What’s Happening

I have smiled a lot lately. There was Fat Tuesday at The Salon, dancing to live bands, swinging my Mardi Gras beads and enjoying the over-the-top spectacle and creole carnival. Then there were not one but two stand-up comedy shows — Maz Jobrani at The Town Hall, and the dynamic duo Tina Fey and Amy Pohler at The Beacon — where smiles broke out into hysterical laughter. And there was one very happy discovery: 100% of my business in 2023 (which was another great year) was from referrals and repeat clients! That means that you all are not only spreading the word on my behalf, but trusting me again and again to help you make your real estate dreams come true. Thank you, thank you, thank you for trusting me and making it possible for me to do this thing that I love.

Have You Heard?

As many buyers are opting to stay put in their current home rather than buy new property right now, renovations are booming nationwide! But where is the best place to put your home reno dollars?

Adventures in Real Estate

It’s five o’clock in the morning, and I’m standing with the buyer at the door of their future home, ready for the early-morning, pre-closing walk-through they requested. The street is so quiet — even the joggers are still asleep. I pull out my copy of the building key, slide it into the keyhole, turn it to the side, and… nothing. I turn it again, left and right, then left again, but nothing works, even though I’ve used this key countless times before. Realizing the locks must have been changed, I call the seller who (unsurprisingly, given the hour) does not answer their phone. With no choice, we ring the bell of another unit owner and explain our dilemma. Luckily, they’re good sports, but just for good measure, I send the buyer’s new neighbors the biggest bouquet of flowers to ensure they start off on the right foot!

The Eye Candy

Did you know that only 3,300 legal and functioning woodburning fireplaces exist in all of NYC, according to a 2014 New York Times article? That was the year the city banned woodburning fireplaces in all new construction. So although it’s a feature that’s at the top of so many buyers’ wish lists, it’s actually a super rare find! Which mantel is your favorite? Let us know!
