Lesson learned from last year’s pandemic holiday season? Appreciate everything — a hug from a friend, Zooming with faraway relatives, a little one’s smile. This year, whether you’re back to hosting a dinner for twenty, or looking forward to a quiet and cozy holiday for two, I hope you’re finding all the simple joys this season has to offer. For a sneak peek at a holiday treat, and the inside scoop on an upcoming real estate opportunity, read on!

The Story: ’Tis the Season to Buy

The Jump Off

If you’re on the hunt for a new home, we have good news for you! There’s a short window of opportunity coming up where you can actually get your dream home for less!

The Process

Ever since last year’s lockdown, NYC real estate hasn’t exactly followed seasonal trends. But one thing is as true now as it was before the pandemic: cold weather and snowstorms don’t make for happy house hunters. Not many people will push strollers up snow-covered sidewalks to see every open house in the neighborhood (already, attendance has been steadily declining for the last few weeks). So if you’re the brave soul who is venturing out, there’s sure to be less buyer competition. And while well-priced properties might still go into bidding wars, you’ll likely only be up against one other buyer.

The Wrap Up

If you see a new listing pop up during the winter months, jump on it. Sellers are motivated, and there are deals to be had. Start the new year off right in a new home!

The Cheat Sheet

While decking the halls is always a fun part of getting ready for the holidays, this year people are taking it up a notch with their outdoor décor. Check out these inspiring ideas for making the outside festive, and don’t forget to keep everyone cozy with a great patio heater. See how it’s really done with a trip through Dyker Heights where inflatable Santas, giant reindeer, and more holiday lights than you ever thought possible make for a stunning display.

The Gabriele Moment: The Holiday Hygge Kit

A crackling blaze upon the hearth, roasting chestnuts, and the scent of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg emanating from the kitchen are all welcome signs that the holidays are upon us. Inspired by childhood vacations in Scandinavia, I’m excited to share with you our Holiday Hygge Kit. Whether you’re celebrating with a crowd, or hibernating with your nearest and dearest, these mulling spices are the perfect thing to create spiced wine, cider, or your favorite holiday cookies. Need some inspiration? Check out these recipes. Here’s to making new memories, and a happy and healthy 2022!
